Things are going to happen in life that are not your will.
Circumstances will happen that you never saw coming.
Your life could be going one way for years, everything could be just working out your way, and then one day you get a disturbing phone call, or learn something undesirable about a loved one, and all these things deeply affect you. None of it was your will or was the result of any decision that you made.
Even though we don’t understand what has happened at the time, the key is to submit to His will. When things happen in life we need to make a choice. At that moment we need to
determine that we have to make a decision and that is, will we continue in the word even when we don’t understand what is going on or what has happened.
In Jesus' time of struggle, He asked the Father, Is there any other way?” But at the same time He remained submissive to the Father, saying, "not my will, but Thine be done.”
“If you will continue in my word then you truly are my disciples”. John 8:31,32
In those moments when we truly decide to continue in the word under immense pressure to give up, God says “If you will continue in my word, then you truly are my disciples”.
And there is a reward! As we continue in His word, believing in His truth, even in moments of immense pressure to quit or give up, even in the midst of the struggle because of things we don’t understand, we will know a truth that makes us free.
We will have the knowing of that word. We will have the strength and stability of that word. We will have the freedom that word brings us!
What do you need to be free of today?
Depression?
Discouragement?
Debt or lack?
Waiting for that answer?
A broken heart?
Being totally misunderstood?
Emotional pain?
How about all news you are listening to and sometimes it just seems so overwhelming?
This is where your freedom comes, because according to Jesus, freedom comes with the initial choice to continue in His word. Revelation, answers, solutions, wisdom for next steps - these all come as God reveals Himself in His word, layer upon layer and precept upon precept.
Ask Holy Spirit to open the Word of God to you today.
And now, more than ever, take these steps to freedom and victory that God says are there for you. Only you can do it!
If you will continue in His Word, the end result is that there is always freedom and if you don’t quit, you win!
